In this episode of Yan Can Cook, chef Martin is wrapping and rolling food in rice paper, foil, banana leaves - you name it. Check out his technique for making won ton soup (16:48). Be sure to grab some ground pork, shrimp, sesame oil, and corn starch to make the filling in advance and use green onion, bok choy, mushrooms, snow peas, and bbq pork or ham in the broth. Keep the won ton wrappers covered in moist towels so that they don't dry out. Once you try this tasty recipe, you'll understand why wonton means "swallowing the cloud". Martin also takes us to a facility where a team of people make 6000 egg rolls an hour! Each roll is totally uniform and filled with delicious ingredients like pork, shrimp, cabbage, carrot, bamboo shoot, and garlic. Spaghetti Carbonara Servings: 4-6 INGREDIENTS 1 pound spaghetti 6 ounces pancetta or guanciale, cut into ¼" cubes 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon salt ½ tablespoon freshly ground black pepper 2 jumbo eggs, room temperature 2 egg yolks, room temperature ½ cup Pecorino Romano cheese, freshly grated ½ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano, freshly grated 1 garlic clove, peeled Garnish Italian parsley, chopped PREPARATION Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the salt, then the pasta and stir to avoid sticking. Cook according to the time on the package, minus two minutes. Heat a large, tall sided frying pan over medium heat. Add extra virgin olive oil and the pancetta or guanciale, and saute until just turning crisp, stirring frequently. Smash the garlic clove with your palm and add to the frying pan with the pancetta. In a bowl or measuring cup, whisk the eggs with the egg yolks. Add the black pepper and half of the Pecorino-Romano, Parmigiano-Reggiano and stir to combine. Check the pasta for doneness, you want it to be very al dente. Take the frying pan off the heat. Add the pasta and about a ½ cup of pasta water to the frying pan with the pancetta. Add the egg/cheese mixture to the pan and quickly stir and shake the pan to avoid scrambling the eggs. To thin out the sauce, add more pasta cooking water, the starch from the water will make the sauce nice and silky!) Sprinkle over the rest of the cheese and parsley and stir until the cheese is melted. Serve Immediately! How to Cook Steak Perfectly Every Time | The Stay At Home Chef ↓↓↓↓↓↓ CLICK FOR RECIPE ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ Learn how to cook steak perfectly every single time with this easy to follow recipe where steak is seared in a skillet on the stove and finished in the oven. INGREDIENTS 2 beef steaks, at least 1-inch thick 2 teaspoons olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon white pepper 2 tablespoons softened butter 1-2 cloves garlic, minced INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove steaks from refrigerator and any packaging and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. 2. Rub each side with the olive oil to coat. Combine the salt, pepper, and onion powder in a small bowl. Rub both sides of each steak with the rub mixture. 3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Preheat a heavy, oven-safe skillet over high heat until it is smoking hot. Sear steaks in the hot pan for 2-3 minutes per side. If the steak has a side of fat, turn the steak onto its side and render the fat by searing it for 2-3 minutes as well. 4. Slide the skillet with the seared steaks in it into the oven to finish cooking. Remove the steaks from the oven 5 degrees before the desired level of doneness is achieved, or 130 degrees F for medium rare. 5. While the steaks are cooking, use a fork to combine the butter with garlic in a small bowl. 6. When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture and allow the steaks to rest 10 minutes before cutting into them. She is 27 months old #shorts RECIPE: 2 eggs 1 banana 2.5 tablespoons coconut flour pinch of salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract(optional) Beat the eggs in a large bowl then add the sliced banana and mash very well. Add the coconut flour, salt, vanilla, and mix very well. Heat a non-stick pan with some butter over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add the batter and cook pancakes until golden brown on each side, about 4 minutes per side. Enjoy!
