Punat, (1784 inhabitants) It lies on the coast of Puntarska (Kosljun). According to tradition, Punat is named after a wooden bridge (lat.pons, genitive pontis) that connects Cape Prnibe with the east coast at the entrance to Puntarska draga. Neolithic stone tools and archeological finds from Greek and Roman times testify to the settlement from the earliest times. At the bottom of the bay next to the road to the town of Krk are the preserved remains of an early Christian church of Sv. Dunata (9th / 10th c.). From the period of Frankopan rule (1115–1480), the first written information about Punt was given; the will of 1277 mentions for the first time one of its inhabitants and in the will of 1377 the village of Punat (villa di Ponte). From 1480 to 1797 it was under Venetian rule and from 1797 to 1918. under Austrian (Austro-Hungarian) rule (except for the period of French administration 1805–13). For the Kingdoms of Yugoslavia it was called Alexander (after King Alexander). KVARNER region is located in the northern Adriatic Sea between the peninsula Istria and the northern Croatian coastline. Its size is 3582 square km (6.3% of the Republic of Croatia) and has over 323.000 inhabitants. The largest city is Rijeka with the population of over 164 000. The average annual temperature is approximately 14°C. During August, the warmest month, the average temperature is 24° C, whereas 5° C in January. The difference throughout the year is more than 40° C (-6° to 37° C). The region has the longest tourist tradition in Croatia, the year-round range of varied programmmes and has developed unique forms of tourism, a variety of tourist attractions which meet the needs of present day tourists, with all their different requirements, throughout the year. The main islands are Krk, Cres, Losinj, Pag and Rab. The main portion of the Kvarner bay is that between the mainland, Cres and Krk. A smaller body of sea located between Cres, Krk, Rab and Pag is called Kvarneric (the little Kvarner). The greatest value of Kvarner as a tourist destination lays exactly in the beaches, in preserved environment and clean sea. You'll find exactly the beach you prefer here: developed or natural, famous or undiscovered, big or small, stone, pebble or sand beach.... The European Blue Flag has been awarded to fifteen beaches in Kvarner Region: Baska, Crikvenica, Dramalj, Novi Vinodolski, Rab, Lopar, Njivice, Veli and Mali Losinj, two in Selce and four in Krk. Worth visiting is definitely the so called Pearl of Kvarner or Nice of the Adriatic, the resort town of Opatija. The town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia. The Habsburg architecture still tells the story of the towns great history. Kvarner is also famous for its marinas. There are 8 modern and well-equipped marinas, with almost 3,000 berths in the sea and 2,000 on the shore. They are mostly located in the vicinity of hotels and offer the possibility of renting boats. They have 2780 berths and 1305 berths on land. The existing marinas are located on the northern coastal part of Kvarner (Icici, Opatija), and on each of the islands (in Punat, Cres, Mali Lošinj, Supetarska Draga and Rab). Punat Marina is known as the oldest and one of the biggest in Croatia, but because of its equipment, services and the diversity of its programmes too. The ACI marina Icici is specialising in bigger and more luxurious yachts. The nautical facilities of Kvarner are some of its top attractions and therefore, along with all the beauties and diversity of the Kvarner shores and islands and their landscape, no wonder this area is also called "gate to the Adriatic yachting paradise". Kvarner cuisine includes delicacies such as snails, frogs, honey, and for many the highest ace of Croatian gastronomy, lamb in all its delectable variations, from Pag, Cres, Krk, Rab, and on to Lika and other areas. This is also the area where the best scampi in the Adriatic are caught and prepared.
Labin (2023), also known as Albona in Italian, is a town in Istria, Croatia. Latin is a hilltop town with a medieval centre although the city is much older. Already in Roman times it was an important settlement. Nowadays Latin has a population of 7,000 and almost 12,000 live in the greater municipality and some beautiful churches. Sie liegt zwischen der Halbinsel Istrien im Westen und dem Kroatischen Küstenland im Osten. Der wichtigste Ort an der Kvarner-Bucht ist heute die Hafenstadt Rijeka. Bewohnte Inseln der Kvarner-Bucht sind Krk, Pag, Cres, Lošinj, Rab, Susak, Unije, Ilovik, Male und Vele Srakane. An ihren Küsten liegen zahlreiche bedeutende und zugleich traditionsreiche Fremdenverkehrsorte, wie das mondäne Opatija und Lovran. Das Kvarnerland wird auch als der Zentralraum der kroatischen Gegend Hrvatsko Primorje (Kroatisches Küstenland) gesehen – eine genaue Abgrenzung ist in dieser reich strukturieren Küstenlandschaft unüblich. Es bildet mit der Triester Provinz Italiens und dem italienischen Teil Istriens (Venezia Giulia), dem Slowenischen Teil Istriens Küstenland/Primorska, dem kroatischen Teil Istriens (Gespanschaft Istrien) und dem südlich anschließenden Dalmatien die Nordostuferlinie der Adria, und wurde mit ersteren vom Hochmittelalter bis in das 20. Jahrhundert als Teil der Habsburgermonarchie schlicht Litorale, das Küstenland, bezeichnet. Die Kvarner Inseln gehören als nördlichste zum Kroatischen Archipel, der sich mit den Montenegrinischen Inseln bis an die albanische Grenze zieht. Die Kvarner-Bucht selbst setzt sich aus den Gewässern Kvarner, Kvarneric und dem Velebit-Kanal zusammen. Als „der Kvarner“ im engeren Sinne wird das Seegebiet zwischen der Halbinsel Istrien und den Inseln Cres und Unije bezeichnet. Der Kvarnerić liegt zwischen Cres und Lošinj auf der westlichen, und den Inseln Krk und Rab auf der östlichen Seite. Zwischen den Inseln Krk und Rab und dem Festland liegt der Velebit-Kanal. Dieser zählt aufgrund der Bora-Häufigkeit und einer lokalen Düsenwirkung durch das Velebit-Gebirge, das östlich gegen das Inland des Balkan hin einen markanten Einschnitt hat, zu den gefährlichen Gewässern der Welt. Eine touristische Besonderheit sind direkt an der Küste gelegene Aussichtsplattformen zum Sichten von Thunfischschwärmen, hier Tuneren genannt.
Die Stadt 🤍 mit ca. 12 tausend Einwohnern erstreckt sich entlang der Festlandküste der beliebten Urlaubsregion Kvarner Bucht. Traumhafte Strände, glasklares Wasser, sportliche Aktivitäten und eine riesige Auswahl an qualitativen Unterkünften sind das Markenzeichen der Urlaubsdestination, die auf über 120 Jahre Erfahrung im Tourismusbereich zurückblicken kann. Den Namen Crikvenica erhielt die Stadt von der kleinen .Maria Himmelfahrtskirche aus dem Jahre 1412. Crikva heißt auf kroatisch Kirchlein. Im angrenzenden ehemaligen Paulinerkloster befindet sich heute das Hotel Kastel mit 74 Zimmern. An der 8 km langen Riviera säumen sich unzählige Buchten, die Badespaß für die ganze Familie garantieren. Ein absolutes Highlight ist der goldgelbe Sandstrand Crni mol im Zentrum von Crikvenica. Der Zugang ist zwar kostenpflichtig, belohnt wird man aber mit einem flach abfallenden Strand, der keine Wünsche offen lässt. Liegen, Sonnenschirme, Duschen, ein Abenteuerspielplatz, eine Wasserrutsche sowie gastronomische und sportliche Angebote versprechen einen unvergesslichen Badetag. Eine neue extrem spaßige Attraktion finden Sie im benachbarten Ort Dramalj. Auf einem Hügel startet die 500m lange Zipline Route, die wahlweise im kühlen Naß oder zu Land endet. Südlich von Crikvenica liegt die einstige kleine Fischerortschaft Selce, die heute zu den Top-Urlaubsdestination der Kvarner Bucht zählt. Hier befindet sich ein weiterer Traumstrand, der mit dem Qualitätssymbol der blauen Flagge ausgezeichnet ist. Insbesondere Eltern mit Kindern wissen das üppige Animations- und Freizeitangebot am Strand Poli Mora sehr zu schätzen. Zurück in Crikvenica bietet ein Besuch des Aquariums eine unterhaltsame Abwechslung zu einem Strandtag. Hier können Sie über 100 Fischarten der kroatischen Adria, Süßwasserfische und sogar tropische Meeresbewohner bestaunen. Wanderfreunde und Naturliebhaber können auf den Liebespfad, der sich auf einer Länge von rund 8km um den Ort Crikvenica schlängelt die Stille des Waldes und die verlockenden Düfte der mediterranen Pflanzen genießen. Hundebesitzer kommen in Crikvenica voll auf Ihre Kosten. Am offiziellen Vierbeiner-Strand befindet sich Monty´s Beach Bar, die für das leibliche Wohl von Mensch und Tier sorgt. Die kreativen Besitzer sorgen mit ausgefallenen Spezialitäten wie Hundebier und Kräutertee für Aufmerksamkeit. Kein Wunder, dass der Hundestand weit über die Grenzen der Crikvenica Riviera bekannt ist. Das Leben in Crikvenica spielt sich entlang der mit Palmen gesäumten Uferpromenade ab. Mediterrane Parkanlagen und romantische Plätze verleihen dem Ort einen unvergleichlichen Charme. Auch kulinarisch wird es Ihnen an nichts fehlen. Rabac (2023), or Porto Albona in Italian, is a small resort town on the Kvarner Bay in Istria, Croatia. Rabac is located close to the city of Latin. Originally a finishing town it became since the 1970s a tourist destination, although the first hotel was built in 1889. Rabac has a population of 1,400. Primorje-Kvarner-Istria is the second part of the Beautiful Croatia video slide show presentation. Primorje is the area around the shore of the Northern Adriatic with historic Towns like Senj, Crikvenica and Bakar. The show starts at the (moonlike) Island of Pag, traveling through many renown summer tourist destination like, Mali Losinj, island of Krk with famous party beaches like Zrce beach. Rijeka is the center of the region. Next you'll see the Istria Penninsula with its famous resorts like Opatija, Porec and Rovinj. Special curiosity are the Roman Amphiteater (Arena) 6th largest in existance and Istrian Fortress villages built on top of the mountain.
